FCT MINISTER WELCOMES SUPPORT FOR CONTINUOUS STAFF TRAINING FROM BAZE UNIVERSITY

Member, Board  of Trustees, Baze University, Alh. Yayale Ahmed, Chairman, Arc Namadi Sambo, FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, Pro-Chancellor, Senator YD Baba-Ahmed, Permanent Secretary, FCTA, Mr Olusade Adesola, Chief of Staff to FCT Minister, Malam Bashir Mai-Bornu during the visit of the Board of Trustees of Baze University, Abuja to the FCTA .

1.    The FCT Administration has welcomed the offer from Baze University, an Abuja based tertiary institution, for continuous education opportunity at reduced cost for staff of the Administration.

2.    While receiving members of the University’s Board of Trustees   led by its Chairman, former Vice President, Arc. Namadi Sambo, on a courtesy visit, FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello thanked the management of the University for the offer which he said will provide an additional window for staff to upgrade their knowledge and qualifications.

3.    He said: “The University communicated to us an offer for our staff to be able to enroll in some of their courses, especially on part-time basis at grossly reduced payment. For that we are grateful. We are also grateful for giving additional window of opportunity for our staff to be able to upgrade their knowledge and also their certificates”.

4.    The Minister commended the Board and management of the University for all their laudable projects and activities in the FCT, which he said has contributed to the development of the city.

5.    He said “Baze University and all its appendages and supporting activities is already a success story. We will try to work with you to see what we can do to support the growth of the University because, like I told you, we as city managers of Abuja feel very proud that this centre of excellence is here in Abuja”

6.    On the issue of access road to the University and illegal settlements, around the institution’s premises the minister assured that the Administration will take positive actions on both issues.

7.    Earlier, the Chancellor and Chairman Board of Trustees (BoT) of the University, Arc. Namadi Sambo said that the University was contributing to the development of the country and the nation’s capital.

8.    He also said that the University was on the verge of commissioning a 200-bed teaching hospital as its contribution towards the delivery of excellent healthcare to Nigerians as well as reducing health tourism outside the country.

9.    Also present at the event were members of the institution’s Board of Trustees including Alh. Yayale Ahmed, Senator YD Baba-Ahmed founder and Pro Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Tahir Mamman,  Chief of Staff to the FCT Minister, Malam Bashir Mai-Bornu and other staff of the FCTA and Baze University.
