The FCT Procurement Department was established on a Circular from the Office of the Head of Civil Services of the Federation Ref. No. HCSF/PSO/155/1/25 of 9th June, 2008.  The Department is one of the common services Departments of the FCT Administration.

Functions:

Their function is to Co-ordinate the procurement process and monitoring of procurement stages in all the Secretariats, Departments and Agencies, Liaise with the Bureau of Public Procurement or any other organization/agency on procurement matters, and Maintain a periodic up-dated price data as may be provided by the Bureau for Public Procurement for Public Sector.

Procurement Approval Threshold is based on the Provision of the Circular from the Office of the Secretary of the Federation, that the Parastatals are to handle procurements process whose value does not exceed the sum of N250Million for Works and N50Million for Goods and Services.
