Aso Radio and Television Services:

Aso Radio 93.5FM was established in 1997 by the former Military Administrator of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Lt. Gen. J.T Useni (Rtd) and was commissioned on 19th May 1999.

The radio station was set up to provide broadcasting services and operate as the official broadcasting communication network of the FCDA. As the years progressed, Aso Radio and Aso Television were merged together to form Abuja Broadcasting Corporation, (ABC). The Board of Directors and management of the corporation were inaugurated by the FCT Administration on July, 2012.

The immediate assignment of the Board and management was to reorganize and reposition the radio arm as well as to supervise and accelerate the processes leading to the take off of the television station.

Functions

  1. To promote the Federal Capital Territory Administrative policies
  2. To provide Educative and Informative Programmes to its teeming Listeners.
  3. To report current and latest happenings in Nigeria and FCT in particular.
  4. To reach out the heterogeneous residents of FCT using the major Nigerian   languages.
  5. To produce and transmit programmes that may impact on the lives of the people in FCT in general, and the grassroots in particular.
  6. To also increase the revenue profile of the FCTA.

Structure

The Managing Director is the Chief Executive and the Secretary to the Board of Directors and heads the corporation, while each department is supervised and controlled by a Senior Manager.

The Corporation has six (6) major departments namely:

  3. Television
  4. Commercial Services
  5. Engineering Services
  6. Internal Audit
