The Department formerly known as “Department of Establishment and Training” was established in the year 2005 following the order 1of 2004.  It was created to perform the services traditionally carried out by the Office of the Head of Service and Civil Service Commission in the States of the Federation.

Functions:

The functions of the department are as follows:-

  • Staff Recruitment
  • Staff Promotion
  • Staff Discipline
  • Training
  • Manpower Planning
  • Processing of staff benefits
  • Establishment and Records Management
  • Enforcement of PSR and extant Regulations
  • Co-ordinate with Head of Service, Federal Civil Service Commission and other relevant bodies on issues bothering on establishment matters
  • Co-ordination of labour and Industrial Relations in the  FCTA
  • Staff deployment
  • Advise Management on Establishment matters
  • Handling of Staff Welfare matters
  • Secretariat for FCTA Establishment Committee
  • Management of Office Accommodation
  • Issuance of circulars that have service wide relevance in FCTA
  • Provision of Management Services to the FCT Administration
